It has been said that the Australian experts who attended the public meeting title "Obesity - Are Drugs The Answer" in Sydney expressed their opinions that drugs can combat the obesity problem and should only be used as the last resort after all the weight loss strategies have failed to bring the desired results. Am sure you have noticed that there are lots of diet pills, weight loss pills, pills that are called fat burners, herbal pill e.t.c, promising to help shift fat and those promising to burn fat much faster. These drugs may be miracle drugs for some fat people but for others it is a nightmare in the sense that this same miracle pills have done more harm than good to their bodies and system.
Even a pharmacologist from the university of NSW called Professor Magaret Morris has told us that using drugs to treat obesity are not right for everybody and that it should be used sensibly and be carefully followed up.
Although other experts have indicated that drugs can play a role in tackling weight problems and should only be used after every other alternative has failed to work for people who are extremely fat.
Now looking at the information forwarded by Drug manufacturers & Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) which has revealed that weight loss drugs can lead to anxiety, high blood pressure, Insomnia, Impotence, nausea and headache. If these drugs can cause so many problems to the body why should it be introduced at all to help combat obesity. Nobody wants to develop high blood pressure or become impotent after losing weight.
I believe adopting a new eating style that promotes weight loss such as reducing your total calorie intake by eating more fruits and vegetables and also exercising regularly will be much more better and safer.
